Homemade Carbonara

I cooked this once as a request. I saw a good carbonara recipe somewhere and tweaked it a little. So, here's how I made it.

Ingredients:

* 200 g sliced mushrooms
* 3 tablespoons chopped green onions
* 2 tablespoons bacon drippings
* 6-10 slices bacon, diced and cooked (I used Hickory for this)
* 450 g spaghetti, cooked and drained
* 1 teaspoon finely minced fresh parsley
* freshly ground black pepper
* salt to taste
* grated cheese
* 1 cup all-purpose cream

Preparation:

1. Heat the reserved bacon drippings in a heavy skillet over medium heat; add the mushrooms and green onions. Saute until tender.
2. Add the bacon, blend well, and turn off the heat.
3. Add the all-purpose cream, pepper, parsley and salt and blend thoroughly
4. Add the warm spaghetti and blend all ingredients together thoroughly.
5. Serve immediately with cheese.

Feedback:

* There's a need to add more cream since it was a bit dry; 1/2 cup would do. However, it was very tasty. I'll make another one next time!
